About · Prova

Why we built Prova.

PCAOB Auditing Standard 2201 demands Test-of-Design and Test-of- Operating-Effectiveness evidence quarterly on every ITGC and business-process control. At Fortune 500 public companies with 20-person internal audit departments and an incumbent tool (AuditBoard, Workiva, Galvanize), this is handled. At sub-$500M revenue public companies and PE portfolio companies preparing for IPO, it isn’t.

A sub-$500M revenue company typically operates with a 2-5 person internal audit team, 100+ SaaS applications, and 3-6 ERP systems inherited from M&A (NetSuite + Sage Intacct + legacy SAP Business One). PE portfolio funds with 8-12 portcos each at different states of SOX maturity compound this: the same fund may have one portco pre-IPO ready and another still running spreadsheet-based reconciliation with controls testing done by external consultants at $300/hour.

The incumbent response for this segment has been (a) pay Fortune 500 prices for tools built for 20-person audit teams, (b) hire external audit-firm consultants at hourly rates, or (c) keep running on spreadsheets and hope the PCAOB audit is kind. None of these produce continuous evidence — they produce point-in- time evidence that goes stale by the next quarter.

Prova is agentic by design. Rather than providing a workflow UI that asks the 3-person audit team to do the testing, Prova deploys control-test agents that connect to NetSuite / Sage Intacct / SAP B1 / Okta / Salesforce / GitHub, execute PCAOB AS 2201 walkthroughs quarterly, generate workpaper-quality evidence (test population, sample selection rationale, sample evidence, exception log), and alert when control operation breaks down — so the team fixes the control, not the after-the-fact exception.

How we build

Prova is under active development as a 28-day market-validation cycle. The waitlist is real — we respond by hand, we take design-partner interviews seriously, and the agent workpaper format is shaped by every Controller and Internal Audit Director conversation. If you’re a Controller, Internal Audit Director, or PE Operations Partner managing SOX readiness across portcos and you want to shape this before it ships, join the waitlist — we’ll be in touch within 48 hours.
